EASTER RACES
Maryborough Victoria
April 2017

Approaching the Crit finish..but where was the chequered flag??
3 races and 3 wins...!

**The road race was first and I got away from my small group on a hill and proceeded to time trial all the way home..probably solo for 35km.

**The Time Trial was next and I was pretty leg weary..I did my best but suffered from the extra work yesterday and did less well than I'd hoped. However I did manage to follow my coach's instructions more closely than usual.

** It took over an hour of spinning for my legs to feel alive before the Crit. For us, on last when it was getting colder and windier, it was only for 25 minutes + 2 laps. We were a mixed age group and I got away with the 2 from the younger class after about 2 laps. An attack by one of the others made me realise I needed to dictate the pace a bit more which I did along with Marg. Then the 2 younger ones stopped working and I went away. The officials thought I was the lapped rider rather than the leader so the above pix is of me about to cross the line for the win and wondering where the chequered flag had got to!!

I had put down to race the club team time trial next Sunday but thankfully the team fell through...I'm not sure I would have been much use!
