Feltre and the Sportful Dolomiti Granfondo

Here it is:
133.8km long for me…the lower loop and it’s a bit lumpy.

the first climb is the worst at 18km long…and so is the last one!

These pix were taken on the reconnaissance ride and are 6km from the top of the first climb …133km and >2000m climb is considered “medium”.

this is the weather forecast at the same place..you know the type ..if you can’t see it, it’s foggy, if it’s horizontal it’s windy etc etc!
and now for something different  and it’s nothing to do  with the Doctor!!

it’s a community book exchange…saw one in Sankt Johann too.  Honesty system.

Welcome to my new blog although its not yet fully up and going

until 30/06/2011 log into
http://lizrandallscyclingtravels.blogspot.com/   which is where I'll be posting until then

This blog is about
  • my cycling training and racing in Europe both during July and August and then again on the track in October (hopefully).
  • learning the language and culture of La Bella Italia
July
I have 4 weeks in Italy where I'll  be concentrating on training and  Italian language lessons in the rural city of Urbania which is situated in the Apennines east of Florence.  In this small town there are 2 language schools..the original one and a breakaway...which is the one I'm going to.

August
I then have 2 weeks in UK where I'll race 1 or 2 time trials then I drive over to Deutschlandsberg in southern Austria where I'll race a sprint, a road race and a time trial before going up to St Johan in tyrol where I'll race a time trial and a road race.

September
Back home again I'll switch into track mode training for the World Masters in Manchester and will (hopefully) be showing off my new found fluency in Italian, if I haven't managed to forget it during the intervening time.  Memo to self..search out Italian cyclists during your time in Austria!

October
World Masters Track Champs.  I'll race the TT, scratch and pursuit races, although I'm not sure of the point of me going there since I'll have to race young chicks, there being not enough old ladies to make a class (needs 6 to be valid).  After the racing my sister and I plan to go to Italy for 2 weeks in a Italian language school..maybe Rome or Florence this time round.

November
Back home in time for summer weather and hopefully some work to fill up the coffers to pay for next years escapades!
